This educational program lays the foundation for respecting all forms of intellectual property, especially music recordings. Materials include classroom activities that help set guidelines for using technology responsibly.

Late Elementary: Grades 3-5; Middle School: Grades 6-8

Program Objectives

  • To introduce students to the concepts of copyright and intellectual property.
  • To help students recognize that taking music without paying for it ("songlifting") is illegal and unfair to others.
  • To encourage music appreciation and musical creativity.
